Just a heads up that work is being done on the tow

Just a heads up that work is being done on the tower that houses our transmitter in Cedar Hill over the next three days, meaning we will be operating from our back-up tower. Our HD signal will be temporarily deactivated during this time, but our FM signal will remain on air. However, the signal will be weaker in some parts of our listening area. Walk into the upcoming Dallas Colombian Festival a

Walk into the upcoming Dallas Colombian Festival and you’ll find performers dancing in flowing skirts as percussive beats fill the air.

That’s thanks to North Texas-based Representa Foundation, which promotes Latin American culture with performances and free dance classes.

Representa is one of six small arts organizations that were selected for this year’s second cohort of The Arts Community Alliance’s Arts Accelerator program. Other arts groups selected include: @cedarsunion, @knowboxdance, @lonestarwindorchestra, overthebridgeartsdtx and @writersgarret.

That’ll be a familiar phrase likely to resonate with Levitt Pavilion-goers next April, when performers debut Arlington’s newly created Shakespeare LIVE.

Just in case it’s been a while since you opened your college English literature textbook, the line is an utterance from melancholy traveler Jacques in Shakespeare’s “As You Like It.” It’s a pastoral (rustic) comedy that scholars estimate was written around 1598. “As You Like It” will also be the first play produced by Arlington’s new Shakespeare LIVE.

We're celebrating the birth anniversary of a man forever immortalized in DFW's classical community - Van Cliburn. (1934-2013) We'll be playing recordings of Van throughout the day, so tune in and join us in our musical homage to this towering Texan.

Did you know that Brad Sham (the voice of the @dallascowboys) got his start in radio at WRR-AM in the 1970s? We now share another connection by both having @rodeogoatburger burgers named for us. Amy Bishop and Brad met up for a friendly "face off" to compare the @keratx Radio G.O.A.T. and Brad Sham burgers earlier this week. For every "Radio G.O.A.T." burger purchased from July 1st to July 31st, $1 will be given to support WRR, KERA, & @kxtradio Additionally, on July 18th from 6 pm to close, 20% of all proceeds will be donated to KERA. On this night, several station staff members can be found celebrating this partnership and visiting with Rodeo Goat customers at select locations. Bring your appetite!
